Philipp Oberlohr
Philipp Oberlohr studied theology and philosophy (University of Innsbruck, AUT) as well as mentalism, illusions and physical theatre (International School of Physical Theatre, London, UK). Since 2010 Oberlohr has been touring Europe with his shows that toy with the perception and reality of the audience. His show Das Spiel developed a cult-following in London and is now spreading throughout Europe. Oberlohr's work is fun, exciting and asks difficult questions easily. He turns formats upside down, explores new ways of performing, never, though, for an end in itself, but always to expand the experiential character of his shows. Without knowing it, he initiated a "trend toward modern illusionism" (cultural journalist Sandra Schäfer).
After nearly a decade in London, Oberlohr now lives in Vienna with his family.
